To begin your journey with Mars Protocol, you'll need to create and fund your account with USDC or other supported assets. If you're coming from an EVM-compatible chain, USDC is the simplest and fastest option. Connect your wallet to the Mars Protocol
Follow these steps to connect your wallet to the Mars Protocol app.
Open your browser and go to:
In the top-right corner, click Connect Wallet.
A modal will appear with a link to Mars Protocol’s Terms of Service.
After you read through them, click Agree & continue.
Choose your wallet from the list (e.g., Keplr Wallet, Leap Wallet, etc.).
Your wallet extension will open, showing a transaction to approve the connection on the current chain (Osmosis or Neutron).
Review and click Approve in your wallet popup.
You’ve successfully connected your wallet! Next, head over to the page to begin depositing and managing assets.



A Credit Account on Mars Protocol lets you deposit collateral and borrow or trade on margin with leverage. This tutorial will walk you through creating your first Credit Account.
Introduction
In order to interact with Mars Protocol V2 and access all features (see Credit Accounts) you must first create a Credit Account.
If you don’t yet have a Credit Account, you’ll be taken straight to the Create and Fund a Credit Account page:
Optionally connect an EVM wallet to deposit USDC from an Ethereum or L2 chain
Select your collateral assets
Click Select Assets + to open the asset selector.
Whitelisted collateral appears at the top and non-whitelisted assets appear below (see the page).
Choose deposit amounts and click Fund Account.
After confirming the on-chain transaction, you’ll be redirected back to the app and see your new Credit Account in the navbar:
To open more than one Credit Account:
Click the Credit Account dropdown in the navbar.
Click Create + and you will be forwarded to the page.
Once you have one or more Credit Accounts, you can Fund, Withdraw, or Delete any of them from the same navbar dropdown:
Open the Credit Account dropdown and click Fund.
In the Fund Credit Account modal, select assets and amounts (same flow as initial funding) and click Fund Account.
From the Credit Account dropdown, click Withdraw.
In the Withdraw modal, choose asset and amount (use slider or MAX) and then click Withdraw →.
Open the Credit Account dropdown and click Delete.
If you have outstanding debt or open Perps positions, you’ll first see a Repay Debts prompt:
Once clear, you’ll see your remaining assets summary, click Delete Account to withdraw them back to your wallet and close the account:







Step-by-step guide on how to create a wallet
Since the Mars Protocol is a Cosmos-based app, users need a Cosmos-compatible wallet. In this guide, we’ll focus on creating a new wallet from scratch.
Some supported options include:

(via the Leap Cosmos Snap integration)
Open the Extension Store
In Chrome or Brave, go to the (or Brave Extension Store) and search for your chosen wallet (e.g., “Keplr Wallet”).
In Edge, enable Allow extensions from other stores in Settings, then visit the Chrome Web Store page for your wallet.
Add to Browser
Launch the Extension
Click the puzzle-piece (đź§©) icon in your toolbar, then select your wallet.
Choose a Setup Option
Create a new wallet
Reveal the Phrase
Click Show my phrase to display your 12 (or 24) secret words.
Store It Securely
Write down
Your new Cosmos-compatible wallet is ready. Now proceed to our guide:
Click “Add to Chrome” (or equivalent) and confirm any prompts.
Verify Installation
You should see the wallet’s icon in your browser’s extensions area.
Import an existing wallet (via Recovery Phrase, Private Key, or Google account)
Connect a hardware wallet (Ledger or Keystone)
Select “Create New Wallet”
Choose Create new wallet, then Create new recovery phrase to generate a brand-new Secret Recovery Phrase.
Do NOT share this phrase—anyone with it can access your funds.
Confirm the Phrase
Click Next, then re-enter or re-select the words in the correct order to verify your backup.
